Suspended debt book, 1845-1850.

This series consists of a suspended debt book, which is a record of payments on debts paid to the Branch Bank or suspended, and of the lawsuits brought against debtors. Included are the county name, the account (debtor's) name, the date the last payment was made, the amount of interest, and whether the balance of the debt was paid by cash or if the Branch Bank charged the balance to the profit and loss account. Also included are the names of the endorsers, the judgment of the lawsuit, and a description of the writ of execution as ordered by the Branch Bank attorney. The accounts are recorded in the form of a balance sheet.
